Start in Vigo, follow the Spiritual Variant through Combarro and Armenteira, sail the Arousa estuary on the legendary pilgrim boat, finish at Praza do Obradoiro in Santiago, then travel together to Cape Finisterre.
Day by day · May 11–19, 2027
Vigo → Redondela
~16 km (10 mi)Leaving Vigo, the trail winds along hillside paths overlooking the bay. This stage merges the Coastal Route with the Central Route at Redondela, a town famous for its historic railway viaducts.

Redondela → Pontevedra
~20 km (12.4 mi)Hike through peaceful Galician forests and rolling countryside, climbing through the pine woods of Alto de Lomba. End in Pontevedra, a historic city renowned for its pedestrianized old town.

- Explore the historic center and plazas of Pontevedra

Pontevedra → Armenteira Spiritual Variant
~23 km (14.3 mi)Just outside Pontevedra, turn west off the main central path to begin the Spiritual Variant. The route heads toward the coastline, passing through Combarro before ascending to the historic monastery in Armenteira.

Armenteira → Vilanova de Arousa Spiritual Variant
~24 km (14.9 mi)Descend from Armenteira along the famous Route of Stone and Water, following a stream past restored stone watermills through green forest canopy to the coastal port of Vilanova de Arousa.
- One of the most scenic stream-side woodland trails on the Camino
- Pass through local Salnés vineyards
- Reconnect with the sea at the port of Vilanova de Arousa
Boat: Vilanova de Arousa → Padrón
~26 km by boat + ~3 mi walkBoard the historic Traslatio pilgrim boat across the Arousa estuary and up the River Ulla to Pontecesures, re-enacting the legend of St. James's disciples. From the boat landing, a short walk brings you into Padrón.

Padrón → Santiago de Compostela
~25 km (15.5 mi)The final leg leads northward through small hamlets, oak forests, and quiet country roads. Climb toward O Milladoiro for a first distant glimpse of the cathedral towers, then descend into Santiago de Compostela.

Private Finisterre day trip
Travel together to Cape Finisterre (Fisterra) — the traditional “end of the earth” on the Atlantic. See the lighthouse and Kilometer 0, walk Langosteira Beach, then have free time in town for lunch and the port. This day is less about miles and more about celebration and shared rest after the walk into Santiago. The tour returns to Santiago for one last night.

Lodging & comfort
We are not staying in low-budget housing — no bed bugs! Expect nice, clean accommodations (most with AC; a few without). Night temperatures should be mild. No need to pack bedding. Some lodgings are right on the trail; others are a short shuttle ride away. Laundry is available in towns if needed.
Walk at your own pace
Typical stages are 10–15 miles. We regroup at cafés and trail markers so everyone can find their rhythm. WhatsApp keeps the group connected between meeting points. Your main bag is transported daily; pack one carry-on-sized bag plus a daypack and a small crossbody for passport, cards, cash, and phone.
